We started Smartway Builders up to provide residential building solutions from a company people can trust.
We aim to stand out. We have respect for our clients and their properties and ask all our people to act as guests in our clients homes, because we’d like to be invited back.
Our business is primarily based on referral and repeat work, and our aim is to have our clients go “Wow … that’s exactly what I wanted”.
We want to raise the bar in the industry and lead by example, so we only engage the best people possible. Builders who can not only provide high quality and technically good solutions, but who also understand about drop cloths and vacuum cleaners!
We are based in Tawa and perform work across the greater Wellington area including the Kapiti Coast.
We work hard to be available when our clients need us, to fit into their schedule, and focus on delivering the best possible result.

We specialise in the Residential sector providing Custom New Builds, Major Renovations - Additions - Alterations across the greater Wellington area.
We want to help you achieve all that you can with the projects you have around your home. We want you to look at the end result and say ... "YES! That's what I wanted."
We follow the rules. The council's rules, and the building code rules. If a part of the project needs certification or sign-off by someone, then we get it. We take care of all those issues, so you don't have to worry.
We only use suitably qualified or experienced people to carry out the work on your property. If the job needs input from an architect or an engineer or a fire safety specialist ... then we involve them. If we need an electrician or a plumber or a drainlayer or a specialist earth-mover then we ring them up and get them on site. We don't take shortcuts.
We get involved early in the process, ie when clients are thinking they want to do a building project and don't know where to start. Where we are different, we can take the initial thoughts and ideas, and then give you an indication about the likely costs of the project. It is so important to do this early in the process before you invest time and money with architect, engineers, surveys, council and then find out that what has been designed and approved doesn't align with what you are happy to invest. We offer an end service from design to completion. However if you have your plans already and just need a builder we can definitely help with that too.
We believe that you are entitled to some simple things like Cleanliness, Promptness, Common Courtesy, Reliability, Respect, Commitment, Perseverance and Flexibility.

I just love what Venus is about, how much Venus gives to women, how it helps us all grow as a people, how it helps us with ideas and growth for our businesses. The training and support being offered is amazing and certainly not available to this extent in the corporate world or 'off-the-shelf". Being surrounded by like minded ladies is fantastic for business growth for all of us.

Our goal is to give all New Zealand residential property owners access to quality, affordable advice, products and building services, provided by qualified, knowledgeable and experienced tradespeople and professionals who they can trust, depend on and be totally comfortable with; tradespeople and professionals who follow the rules and are committed to old fashioned values such as honesty, integrity, fairness, dependability, cleanliness, promptness and common courtesy, and who care about the results they produce and delivering what they promise.
We believe that being great simply isn’t good enough and we want to be the best in our field and to set the standards for others to follow, raising the bar every year through constant improvement and innovation.
We believe that you are entitled to Quality Work, Honesty, and Integrity from the tradespeople you choose to deal with. Again, that's what we're all about.
And that you should expect the people working on your project to Understand what you are trying to achieve, and be suitably Qualified, Knowledgeable or Experienced. It only seems fair. We focus on that too.
And lastly we believe that you are entitled to some simple things like Cleanliness, Promptness, Common Courtesy and a Willingness on behalf of your tradespeople to Admit, Accept and to Fix any issues that subsequently arise. Then again, maybe caring about you and the job we do makes us strange, unusual and "old-fashioned". I don't think it does, but that's up to you to decide.
