Jo's long career in Event Management has crossed a range of areas including touring international musicians in Europe, designing University degrees, implementing events programmes for political parties and... owning First Scene.Established over 30 years ago, First Scene is recognised as having Aotearoa's largest collection of costumes and party props. Many of our items have featured in local and international films, national theatre productions, television commercials and of course thousands of parties and celebrations around the country.

Costumes & Props: 400,000 items to choose from.Event Theming Services: Our in house event design team can create, install and pack down your event theme.
Event Venue: We are the ideal venue for events for 20-100 guests if you are looking for a venue experience with a difference. Your guests will party in a unique environment while wearing amazing costumes for the night.
'Give Back to the Community' programme: We offer tours of First Scene, with refreshments, to a range of groups and organisations in our community. Our tours highlight the uniqueness of our collection and we are often referred to as a 'living museum' by our guests.
